No. 1:

Boeing 747

The Jumbo Jet. The Queen of the Skies. 52 years of service. 5.9 billion passangers. 57 billion nautical miles flown.

The Boeing 747. My no. 1 favourite plane.

Origionally designed as a cargo plane for the US Air Force, the 747 started it's long production run even before the moon landing 53 years ago, with boeing manafacturing 1,562 in total. The 747 revelutionised planes forever, introducing the wide-body design seen in many aircraft today. 747s are sadly now being retired in most passanger airlines, but are still commonly used in the cargo industry, due to it's large nose door, making the 747-F able to load cargo as long as itself!
